Fall and Family

Today is the first day of Fall officially and last night was a full moon and a gorgeous day in Brooklin as well as here in Bend, Oregon where I just welcomed my newest grandchild at 7:30 pm last night...a perfect little bundle whose name is Kaylin Anne Kaufman and who arrived just on time the day after I flew in! The new family is doing great and I am ecstatic to have been here to meet my new grandaughter in person.

While I am out west enjoying my family all kinds of great new things are arriving at Betsy's in Brooklin in preparation for this new Fall season and the approaching Holidays. Nancy, Mamie and Blossom have been busy unpacking great new cards, fall candles, unique gift items, books and the like and early birds are already flocking to snap up unique stocking stuffers, Halloween cards and treat bags, linens for the Thanksgiving table, and more. I consider myself very lucky to have such a dedicated and enthusiastic crew helping out and welcoming customers while I am away.

Before we know it the snow will be flying and the windows will be decorated for the Holidays...watch for an announcement of our Holiday Open House ....we will be offering everything from decorations and boxed cards, holiday gift soaps, candles and linens, to gift tags, wrapping paper, a great selection of books for everyone on your list.....mulling spices....unique stocking stuffers and too much more to mention here! Come see for yourself...we are a little out of the way, but we have a lot to offer..and remember, we gift wrap for free..and ship anywhere.

Next time you are in historic and scenic Brooklin Village come and see us! We are located right next door to the General Store.

Summer Wrap Up

Labor Day and "Hurricane" Earl have come and gone. Thankfully Earl was a no show and we benefited from the rain which swept through quickly and didn't impact the gorgeous Labor Day Weekend that followed.

A few leaves are turning, kids have headed back to school and many of our summer visitors are packing up and heading home for the winter months. It was a fantastic summer and our thanks go out to all those who stopped by and made our first summer season at Betsy's Sunflower a great success!

Just a reminder though....Brooklin does not close down in the winter! Many of our shops and restaurants stay open all year providing a unique selection of goods and services year round to local residents and visitors alike.

At Betsy's we are getting in new fall and holiday inventory daily. Great new fall colors in candles, linens and more. Seasonal cards from Halloween to Christmas(boxed cards as well). Stocking stuffers galore. Great choices in books and some unique advent calendars are already going out the door.

Beautiful new fall patterns in Emilie Sloan lunch bags. New fall and holiday dish towels, throw rugs and gifts.

Everything you will need for your holiday turkeys and fall BBQ's. Brining kits, stuffing mix, herbs and rubs and lots of new sauces and marinades from Cue BBQ in Portland. Greg just finished a brined and smoked turkey and the results were awesome! don't need to wait for Thanksgiving to try this treat!

I am in the process of getting pictures of lots of our new merchandise and will post them ASAP so you can get a first hand look at what is in store for the upcoming season at Betsy's
