First Week a Great Success!

We started with a bang on the Holiday weekend and continued all week long! Yesterday, was our one week anniversary and we celebrated by spending a good part of the day re-ordering after a terrific week of business. We saw lots of old friends and met many new ones.
We have finally gotten our credit card machine and phone hooked up , but still have no sign or any advertising in place...somehow plenty of folks are finding us anyway! Thanks for everyones patience while we get all our loose ends tied up.
Brooklin has been enjoying a very busy and exciting summer so far. Great weather, new businesses, a terrific new farmers market on Thursdays across from the very busy Hylan Building, a new wi-fi-screen house on the library lawn and Mike is back at the General Store. (Don't miss his Friday cook out at lunch time!)
Butch is serving weekday breakfasts at the Lookout on Flye Point and Chip has just started serving lunch daily at the Brooklin Inn. The Mountain Ash House , a lovely B&B run by Susan Vanderlin is open for business this summer as well.
The windjammers have been gathering in Great Cove off of the Wooden Boat School and the sunsets have been spectacular...this years warm weather has even made it relatively comfortable for swimming off of the island beaches especially on an afternoon incoming tide!
The garden is flourishing and we put out our first bouquets to sell this week, lots more to follow. If you don't see any out front, just ask..we will be happy to cut flowers whenever we have them.
July is flying by, so get out and enjoy every bit of what this beautiful place has to offer during these pleasant summer months....
Don't miss a visit to Brooklin..we are a little out of the way, but we have an awful lot to offer. Definitely worth the trip

Betsy's Sunflower Brooklin is OPEN for business

After several long months and many many hours of hard work and the help of many friends and neighbors Betsy's Sunflower opened the doors for business on Saturday the 3rd of July 2010!
Thanks to all who helped make it happen.

We had a great day in Brooklin, sunny and warm with a bluebird sky and a great crowd watching the parade and enjoying the music of the Brooklin Band and the games and excellent bbq at the town green afterward.

Many , many friends and neighbors from near and far stopped in to wish us well, check out the merchandise and kept Pj, Mamie and Betsy hopping all day! A great beginning!

I am editing a whole slew of pics to post so you can see some of our offerings and the completed building all decked out in red white and blue bunting for the 4th!
